NORTH COUNTRY UROLOGY offers a broad spectrum of urologic care for adults and children.  We provide the most contemporary diagnostic and treatment options in a caring and respectful environment.  We specialize in treating diseases of the female and male urinary system, as well as conditions affecting the male genitalia.  These conditions include urologic cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicle); urinary stones and blockages; enlarged or painful prostate conditions; urinary and genital infections; leakage of urine (incontinence); male sexual difficulties; urination problems of all types (including bleeding); dropped bladders (prolapse); evaluation and treatment of the urinary symptoms of neurological diseases such as diabetes, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and Parkinsonism; and children’s problems (bedwetting, urinary reflux, infections, scrotal and penile abnormalities).  We also offer vasectomy as a form of permanent sterilization.

A minimally invasive approach to the treatment of kidney stones including shock wave lithotripsy and ureteroscopic (internal telescope without an incision) stone manipulation utilizing laser technology.

 

Prostate ultrasound and biopsy utilizing the latest smaller diameter probes and modern local anesthetic techniques.

 

Diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers.

 

A full range of therapies for male sexual problems including erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.  Options include medications, injection therapy, vacuum devices, and penile implants.

 

No scalpel vasectomy.

 

Bladder scope exams available in the office using local anesthesia and the latest small diameter, flexible scopes.  We can also treat certain small tumors and take biopsies in the office, possibly avoiding the need for an anesthetic and hospital stay.

 

Evaluation and treatment of various voiding dysfunctions including those related to spinal cord and back problems, diabetes, and strokes.

 

Conservative (exercises, physical therapy referral for the pelvic floor, medication) and surgical interventions for the treatment of various forms of urinary leakage.  We offer a range of surgical and minimally invasive options and also work closely with our gynecology colleagues to take a team approach to treat disorders of the pelvic organs including prolapse and leakage.
