Here at North Country Hospital, we assist new nurses with the transition from novice nurse to with less than one year of experience to competent clinical practice. This program is supported with an orientation program combination of traditional classroom and preceptor support. The preceptors play a critial role in establishing the foundation for nurse interns.
Nurse Extern Program
The goal of the nurse extern program is to further classroom education and preceptor support to fulfill float position requirements. The areas of focus of the program are Maternal Child Health, Emergency Department, ICU and clinics. This program includes basic arrhythmia courses, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification.
