We are a full-service Obstetrics and Gynecology practice that has been providing sensitive, thoughtful and comprehensive care in the Newport area for more than 30 years. Options for obstetric care include traditional prenatal care by our physicians and certified nurse midwife, or Centering Pregnancy, our group-oriented, midwife-led approach to prenatal care. In-office gynecological care is provided by both our physicians and certified nurse midwife, with a broad array of surgical procedures performed by our physicians within the operating rooms at North Country Hospital.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Services:
Obstetrics: Midwife care, in-office ultrasound, group oriented prenatal visits, childbirth education classes, and lactation consultation. 24/7 coverage of labor and delivery, including VBAC attempts, epidurals upon request 24/7.
Minimally invasive surgery, treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, including urodynamics, complete in-office gynecological ultrasound, evaluation of infertility, comprehensive family planning and contraceptive counseling, management of abnormal pap smears, evaluation and treatment of pelvic pain, management of vulvar disease, performance of well women annual examinations, treatment of menstrual abnormalities, and screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.

24 hour notice of appointment cancellations would be appreciated.
Please request prescription refills during office visits otherwise we request 24 hour notice of prescription refill requests.
Patients are notified of all PAP Smear and Mammogram results as well as all abnormal test results.

North Country Hospital, as a promoter of optimal health care, has been dedicated to the success of breastfeeding mothers and babies through the Lactation Program since its beginning twenty-one years ago. We have three International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. These nurses have over 48 years of combined experience. Together with the efforts of our local Public Health department, our breastfeeding rates are amongst the highest in the state of Vermont.
The Lactation Services Program offers:
*free: up to one hour prenatal education visits
*free: follow up post partum hospital visits as needed
*FREE: outreach contacts via telephone or Email up to one year and beyond for breastfeeding moms offering support and assistance as needed
*NCH is a breast feeding friendly employer offering free use of our hospital grade pumps, a comfortable space and the time required to pump during working hours.
